Privacy Policy

Last updated: 11 July 2026 · Applies to the Dayden app and website.

The short version

Dayden is private by design. We collect the minimum needed to run your account, we show no ads, we use no third-party trackers or analytics, and we never sell or share your data.

What we collect

What we do NOT do

AI features

Dayden's AI features are on-device. The “Quick capture” tool is simple pattern-matching that runs in your browser. The AI helper (summaries, turning notes into tasks) uses your browser's own built-in AI model where available (currently Chrome and Edge on desktop) — the text is processed entirely on your device and is never sent to us or any third-party AI service. There is no cloud AI, no API calls, and nothing about your notes leaves your computer.

Optional trackers (off by default)

Dayden includes optional trackers that are all switched off by default: a period & pregnancy tracker, a mood log, a medications tick-list, a water tracker, a car/home maintenance log, and prayer times. If you turn one on in Settings, what you choose to log (for example period dates, daily moods, medication names, or — for prayer times — your approximate location) is stored with the rest of your private app data: encrypted in transit, held in your own account space, visible only to you, and never shared, sold or used for anything except showing you your own entries.

Some of this can be special-category data under GDPR — cycle dates, moods and medication names relate to health, and using the prayer-times feature may indicate a religious belief. We only process such data with your explicit consent (Article 9(2)(a) GDPR): switching the tracker on is how you give that consent, and you can withdraw it at any time by deleting your entries or your account. Predictions, due dates and calculated prayer times are estimates for personal planning — not medical or religious authority.

Where data is processed

Authentication and backup storage are provided by Google Firebase (Google LLC). Google acts as our data processor; your data is protected by encryption in transit and at rest. See Firebase's privacy documentation.

Your rights

You can export all your data at any time from Settings → Data → Export. You can delete your account and all cloud data yourself from Settings → Account → "Delete account & cloud data" (or by emailing us); deletion removes your data from our systems. Security-audit records may be retained for a limited period where required for security and integrity. If you are in the UK/EU, you have the rights set out in UK GDPR/GDPR, including access, rectification, erasure and portability.

Data retention

Your data is kept while your account exists. Delete your account and it is removed. Local data on your own devices is under your control. Security-audit records (described above) are retained only for as long as needed for security, fraud prevention and licence enforcement, and are then deleted.

Children

Dayden is not directed at children under 13 and we do not knowingly collect data from them.
